1765.1 | Bid and Counter Bid | PEKING::ANTELLJ | | Thu Aug 19 1993 13:05 | 11 |
| We play skins a lot, how we work out hcps is just row and argue on the
tee, bid and counter bid.
Whoever wins is a cheat and a Bandit
Whoever loses is a slasher and a chopper.
I dont know how it should be done but this semms to work for us
hackers over the water hazard.

1765.2 | how much can you afford to lose? | CSLALL::WEWING | | Thu Aug 19 1993 14:16 | 21 |
| we always play you have to at least par the hole to win
the skin. is that the norm?
we also play that a birdie is worth two skins.
a greenie (on the green on a par 3 is worth a skin IF you
win the hole).
you can just handicap off of average scores IF you adjust
the scores to a mutually acceptable maximum - i.e., no
score higher than an eight on any hole. i can usually
play 12-16 decent holes but there are usually a few
of those 8, 9, 10's lurking about.
have fun.
black nicklaus
p.s. - i always figure out how much i lose if i lose every hole
and then decide if i can afford to lose before i do any skins
and nassaus.
p.p.s. - by definition, we never give strokes on a par 3!

1765.3 | Another sub 100 round -#7 for '93! | ABACUS::LEARY | Only the good die young... | Mon Aug 23 1993 20:26 | 12 |

Bradford is short and tight. The hard part was determining distance
from tee to landing, green or approach shots. Very awkward having
never played there and neither had my compadre's. $27 for weekend
smooth flow to play we had a brew break @ 9 & 1/2 and finished in
under 5. That's with a lot of arguing and a couple good ball
safari's. Only wished my approaches caused more ball marks...
otherwise good round driving and putting. Lost a fin w/ 99.
Almost broke even except I lipped out on par and carried over
to lose the next hole.
