1751.1 | try low and slow... | OLCROW::VINCENT | | Mon Aug 02 1993 13:52 | 12 |
| I don't have a Long Sword but...having some experience trying to hit a
graphite-shafted, graphite-headed driver I assembled myself, I think
there's a tendency with graphite (because it is so light) to pick up
the club with your hands on the backswing and thus come "over the top"
leading to all manner of poor hits.
So..assuming you don't sell the club...I'd try a slooow backswing and
concentrate on keeping the clubhead low to the ground for the first
couple of feet of the backswing.

| Re. 3: Right on! With graphite, you've gotta be smooth - the technology
does the work. Hmmm, I might be interested in giving this bad boy a
beating myself - what ranges do you frequent ?

I used to use a graphite shaft/graphite headed driver.
I just hit it as hard as I could. I would just wind up
and smash the little white ball. I got GREAT distance
out of it, just never knew where it was going. :-)

| Jack,
Primarily Stow Acres. Where do you sit? I'm in MSO, and by looking at
your node it looks like you are close by. I'd be happy to let you take
the club for a day or 2. Call me at 223-7501.
