Well thats the basics know its just down to shooting 4 rounds of great
golf, the weather in the area is not hot with a fresh breeze and slight
drizzle it should improve towards the end of the week and weekend.

I take Faldo to win with a battle for second between Price and Stewart.
My outsider is Sam Torrance 33 - 1 with 3 wins on the euro tour this
year and showing a keen interest at Gleneagles last week.

    Hope you like it

    Heres a John Daly special.

On the 5th hole on a practise round at Royal St George's:

This is a 421 yards par 4 (a dogleg to the left), Daly decided he
would cut the dogleg and hit a driver close to the green. His shot
landed 4 feet from the pin, the previous group were still on the
    green !

The drive was estimated to be 360 yards.

Norman was in at -4 tied with 2 others, Mize and I think Senior. Fred
was in at -2. Lots of big names on the top. Seve was nailing some putts
before I had to leave (-3) thru 11 or 12 holes.

    cheers,

Nick Faldo shot a course record 63 (-7) to go -8 for the tournament.
Greg Norman had it at -7 but bogied 17 and was in trouble on 18. So might
have dropped to -5. John Daly was -5 under for the day on 17 to be at -4.
Can't remember anybody else, had to get back to work from lunch.

I was lucky enough to get to see the 1st round at Sandwich, what a day
when John Daly hits a ball the crowd laugh , that guy is unreal the
    crowds love him.
He will put bums on seats and he will win another major.

On the first Norman started with a double bogey and went on to
win, as they say'how goods that'.

I've said it before, but Greg Norman is everything I wish our U.S. Tour
guys should be. Great victory to a great player - and a great man.

Regrettably, I missed most of the final round. My fiancee and I were
enroute to a long awaited vacation in Maine. I watched the first couple
of holes and thought, "this might be one of the best Opens ever. Lots
of great players in contention, and everybody's makin' birdies like a
fire sale..." Well, the horn beeped, and that was that. This is one
    videotape I have to own.
