Hi All, I will be down in the Monmouth County N.J. area the weekend of July 31 and will have most of Saturday the 31st free and would like to play as nice a course as possible. Within reason, money is not a factor. Any recommendations on a course(s) that I could/should get on ? Thanks for any hints. Peter. p.s. Towns in/near Monmouth County are Redbank,Little Silver,Rumson,etc...

Peter, There are three courses in the Monmouth county area that you may like to consider playing. I have not played these courses, but have heard a lot of good things about them. Here's the list: Jumping Brook Golf & CC semi-private 908-922-6140 cost $50/w cart rating 71.4 slope 122 (mandatory) Hominy Hill (once in Golf Digest top 100 public) 908-462-9222 $30 rating 71.7 slope 127 (cart not required) Howell Park (also top 100 once) 908-938-4771 $30 rating 72.9 slope 128 (cart not required) Costs are approximate since they may be last years prices. Courses will be crowded on the weekend, but you should have no problem getting out as a single. If you need more info send me mail at HITEKS::SANDERS. I have a book with course info and small descriptions. Good golfing. Bob |
