I have a pair of golf shoes that I bought last year. I forgot to remove the spikes and put some lubricant in them. Now I'm having a tough time removing the spikes so that I can replace them. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Regards, Dalip

Dalip, At Golf USA, I bought a spike remover bit that attachs to a power drill. Rather than using a power drill, the spike remover bit will also fit into a Black & Decker portable battery charged screwdriver. Using the two, I can unscrew spikes that the hand held spike remover can't seem to budge. I hope this helps. Ray

I have also had luck by using the thin type metal spike remover. I put the tool in a vise and jam the shoe on the prongs and use the leverage of the shoe to turn off the spike. I do put a little oil/lube on the spike overnight first. This has always worked for me. good luck !

I use the same method as .2 to remove troublesome spikes. I use an automotive exhaust manifold antiseize lubricant on even newly purchased shoes. Regards Kevin,
1718.4 | vice works fine w/o tool | TOLKIN::LONCZAK | Mon Jun 21 1993 13:19 | 8
I've used a vice similar to earlier note except that I didn't use any other tool. I just closed the vice on the individual spike and....... ...turned the shoe. Worked fine....took all of about 5 minutes to remove the entire set of spikes on both shoes. |
