1714.0. "Info on Golf Carts required" by ESSB::DOODY () Mon Jun 14 1993 10:37

My mother requires a golf cart. As we live in Ireland the general rule
on all golf courses is no golf carts unless on the grounds of the age
of the player etc. Consequently I know very little about them.

I need one which is a) lightweight
                        b) can be used in the rain
                        c) carries 1 person + clubs

I need to ascertain the following

    1) Is there anything out the which matches my specifications?
    2) What are the reputable brands of golf cart?
    3) Are they exclusively battery power or can petrol (gosoline) powered
       versions be obtained?

    Thanks in advance,
         Brian

I don't know a whole lot about golf cars as I usually walk unless
forced by the course to take a cart. But one of our customers Textron
makes the EZGO golf cart that is popular here in the states. Most
carts are made for 2 people and come as either gas or battery powered.

The gas powered tends to be noisy but has more power than the electric
battery cart. Most courses that are hilly use gas carts. The
electric has to be recharged overnight. They can be used in the rain
but shouldn't be used on fairways when the ground is soft from rain.

The only other cart vendor that I can think of is Yamaha which is
    equally reliable.

Textron is a Digital customer that makes a quality product.

Also the steering wheels on carts made here in the USA are on the left
side of the cart. There may be a law in Ireland requiring you to drive
on the left side of the fairway instead of the right side.
