Joe,
In general Europe is from moderately expensive to outrageously
expensive. When I went to DEC University in Southern France, I
managed some personal time and played a nice course managed by the
Club Med where DEC-U is held (La Grande Bastide). A Ball mark fixer
was $35!!
But you don't have to go to St. Andrews to buy St. Andrews
merchandise, just pick up most golf catalogs (like Austads) and they
usually have it at U.S. prices.

Tavo,
......but I'll know it's from Austads! I know, what's the diff.?!?!
Actually, I always thought that that stuff in Austads was ironed on
in some barn in East Overshoe. Is it real??
Anyway, thanx for the response.

I think you're right. Its worth a few extra pennies to know that
the product has come from St Andrews even although it has
probably been manufactured in a sweat shop in Korea.
There is a golf shop right next to the 18th green on the Old
Course, run by the descendants of Old Tom Morris. Round the
corner there is another shop run by Willie Auchterlonie's family.
You will probably pay an extra 50p to a pound for a souvenir.
Personally, I think it worth it.
There is also The St Andrews Woollen Mill alongside the 18th
fairway, where you can get any type of Pringle, Lyle & Scott or
GlenMuir jersey. These can vary in price from 25 pounds to over
200 pounds for a true cashmere one.
I don't think the prices for nik-nak souvenirs are too expensive
e.g ball maker 1.50, pitch mark repairer 2.00, sun visor
7.00, etc... and don't forget, that I'm a SCOT.
