    I am out of here on the recent TFSO.  I wanted to thank all of the
    folks I've had a chance to talk with via this conference over the 
    years.  Good luck to all of you....

    Probably no good place to post this note and probably only a few who
    care.
    
    
    Digital has just given SCD the opportunity to pursue another career, so
    with some regret (from a noters perspective), this will be my last note.  
    What and where I will be is yet to be established, but Monday at 8:30
    am I am teeing it up in a tourney and Tuesday I am flying to Phoenix to
    launch a few golf balls and down a few drams of golden delicious
    elixir.
    
    After that, I will try my hand at the management consulting game and
    use the vast resources of the TFSO package to its fullest extent.
    Heck I might take up polo, I know of a pretty good looking babe that
    has some extra disposable income.  Or maybe I will go to work for the
    add agency that represents Ben Johnson, John Daly and Dennis Rodman.

    I fully expect that, like the movie Mr. Roberts, someone like One-Ton,
    Walta or Jack V. will serve as my Ensign Pulver and make sure the palm
    tree gets thrown over board when things get to serious and that someone
    will always be willing to throw a firecracker into the laundry, just to
    see what the reaction will be.
    
    May you all tee them high and watch them fly or tee them low and watch
    them go,  make all your makeables and lag for gimmes on the tough ones.

Looks like I missed saying goodbye to SCD but I can say goodbye to the
rest of you.  This is my last week at DEC after 16 years.  I can truly
say that I will miss this notes conference most of all.  As for what
lies in store, I hope to be heading back to Northern Vermont within the
timeframe of TFSO. But first a vacation to Florida for some relaxation,
golf and fun. I hope the golf gods smile on us all nad that we all meet
on the first tee some day.  Good luck and good golfing to you all.

    two of our friends will be leaving DEC.

What a shock to the system.  You've both been two significant contirbutors to
the Golf notes files over the years.  Your abscence will leave a void.
KO, it was a pleasure to play with you & I will miss your authoritative
words on club building.  SCD, if you're ever back East please look up us fellow
noters it would be great to put a face with your great notes.

    KO, I just got over the shock from SCD, and now this!! I'm really
    bummed, but I know you'll land on your feet and keep makin' birdies out

    I too join the ranks of those set loose to seek opportunity elsewhere.
    Although I've been mostly read-only, I have enjoyed this conference
    greatly.  I will miss the insight, the knowledge and the humor.
    
    For me this transition is good news.  September of '93 will find my
    wife and I living on Kiawah Island SC.  Between now and then, I intend
    to take advantage of some "free time" and get myself ready for The
    Ocean Course.

    Well another one bids farewell. I've just been given that "carry bag"
    and told to join another tour. Lost my playing card - if you will. 
    
    One of the first things I did when I joined DEC five years ago was to
    find out how to log into the Golf Notes file. The first thing I thought
    of as I was told the package was coming was to log in one last time.
    This notes file has been a big part of my career with DEC and the
    friends I've made will always be remembered. Even though we never meet
    face to face, I feel I know each and everyone of you and your games. 
    
    I guess Friday will be my last official day. So I can at least stay
    active until then. 
    
    If any of you are in the Dallas area give me a call and we'll find a
    game. I do get up to the Boston area from time to time and will find a
    way to look some of you up.

    Ken, this is very sad news for me to read. Over the years in this file,
    I've come to regard you as a pal, and your interesting contributions
    will be sorely missed.
    
    As we would expect, your reaction and message was "class" all the way,
    and once again, DEC has blown it. All the best in your future
    endeavors, and when you're up here, give me a call at (508) 464-2947 so
    we can play some golf. I didn't bother to enter my work number, because
    who the hell knows...

      Well, I'm a goner as of Friday next week.  Enjoyed this notes file
      and enjoyed meeting many of you at the various tournaments.  My 
      participation here diminished considerably the past few years which
      coincided with my diminishing enjoyment in working for this once
      great company.  To those that are left, good luck and I hope it turns
      around for you!   Oh, and if there is a tournament that will accept
      ex-deccies, give me a holler at     [email protected]

     Just to clarify, I'm taking on a new job in Cambridge Ma (no courses)
     for a small startup company, reporting to the president.  Yikes, I hope
     he plays golf.  It will be a much different environment and will be 
     looking forward to it.  Also thought I'd save Digital some TSFO money. 

     They've been keeping extremely busy here till the bitter end, so this
     is it for me probably.  Bye to all the great contributors to this 
     conference from all over the world.  It has been fun.
