1633.0. "Building 19 golf sales??" by FLYSQD::MONTVILLE () Thu Feb 18 1993 08:41

For the folks around Central MA. Has anyone heard of the special
sales that Building 19 has been having as of late. I heard that they
recently had LYNX clubs (woods) for $29.95 - $39.95 and Stylo and
Foot-Joy golf shoes for $29.95. I live in the area but never see
    ads in the local papers.

It sounds to me like a good deal. Lynx if a pretty good club and for
$29.95 if the club rots....who cares if you wrap it around the ball-
washer? Just kidding, no room in this great sport for violence.

If anyone in the area hears of another sale like this please advise...
it would be worth looking into at least.

    Thanks!

the building 19 near me (lynn) has had golf clubs
all winter long in the $20 to $40 range for woods
and $15 and up for irons. the $40 woods are graphite
shafted. there are a lot of austads' clubs in the
    pile.

now if i could only get the *&#$^%#@ bldg. 19 price tag off
    the club :-)

    Bob,

I have been at B#19 when they carry a lot of left overs from Austads,
and their prices are pretty good, that is if you find something that
you need. Austads has all kind of odd clubs. But if they have Lynx
and Footjoys, it may be worth stopping by.

BTW, New England Golf Supply is also having a sale. I stopped
yesterday at the one in Marlboro and they have shirts, some clubs,
some bags, etc 30-40% off. They have a sale on Etonic Gore-tex shoes
(blemished) at $70. They have a lifetime waterproof warranty.
Unfortunatelly they only have for right-handed golfers (i.e. the
stabilizer rubber spikes are in the wrong side :-). This seems to me
    a good buy.

    Tavo,
Now that Phil has won one for the port-side set "WRONG" side is
    correct.

But, please expand on left vs right hander shoe and "stabilizer".

This Bud may be on me but I wasn't aware that golf shoes might
be left and right like bowling shoes.

    Bill,

Etonic stabilizers have, besides the regular spikes, some rubber
spikes in only one side of the shoe. For "wrong-handers" (a.k.a.
right) is on the right side. These spikes are supposed to help when
you change weight in your swing.

Besides which, in this year of political correctness, what is more
appropriate than someone from the "left" winning. Of course, Phil just
became one of the many that Slick Willie has targeted as needing to
make a greater "sacrifice". Maybe the purses should be less than 100k
or be an annuity...oh well, that's what you guys get from me when I
spend the morning reading the Editorial page.

I am planning to sneak out and see Phil, Freddy, John and Tiger this
week. It is the only time this year on the west that all the greats
    will be together.

    SCD,

I guess your were replying to another note. And I guess it was in
reference to Mickelson (sp?) winning this past weekend.

I'll continue also off tangent with a comment on Phil's leftness, I
do several things right handed (mainly writing) but I always consider
myself left handed. I wonder how Phil feels about himself? Would he
    join the Left-handers Golfers Association"?

(Just another senseless note to pass this awful winter. It's snowing
again, the fifth time in a less than ten days!)

    Tav,

Get used to the ssnow because if our rain in the west is a predictor of
your snow, more is on the way. We are scheduled for rain with periods
of sun for the next three weeks.

How about sending some of that California sunshine and warmth this way?
My Mom always told me it is much nicer to share!

I think that they are coming to take me away! Those little men in their
white coats. Ha, ha, he, he, I think they are coming to take me away!
To the funny farm. Ha, ha, he, he.

Sorry, but all you are getting now is the rain we get that turns to
snow. We have two days of clear then more rain. Truly an area where
the mountains are rushing to meet the sea.

If you saw the Buick open you got a taste of the weather. More in
store for the LA Open this week.

1633.12How do I get a Lynx Predator 7 IronSOLVIT::YEEThu Mar 11 1993 01:109
I'm new to this conference but I do have a question on the Building 19
Lynx club sale. I was not able to find a Lynx Predator 7 iron in a
recent sale at building 19. How does one go about getting a single
club to complete a set? Are there local shops that can order a
specific club or can I go mail order? What is the least expensive way
to go? Lots of folks at the sale were short a 7 iron. One person
mentioned that he could get a 7 iron for about $40, I couldn't catch how.
