    I got a great golf book for Christmas (Mr. Moderator, feel free
    to move to Books on Golf if more appropriate) that I'd like to
    recommend.  It's Harvey Penick's Little Red Book and it's pure
    pleasure.
    
    It occurred to me while reading it that Harvey must have snuck a
    peek in this conference, observed all the technobabble that
    gets written about the golf swing and decided to do the opposite.
    The Forward says: "His simple, direct, practical wisdom pares away
    all the hypertechnical jargon that's grown up around the golf swing
    and lets all golfers, whatever their level, play their best".
    
    It's great reading while we wait for April.

	I also received the book and it's wonderful. It's been sold out in the N Texas area for months. What great reading. I have also had the pleasure of playing the old Austin CC (now public) and the new Austin CC. The old course is a great layout but short on upkeep. The new course is a Pete Dye design - say no more!!! I will travel with the book and hope to find Harvey for an autograph. I'll put it up there with Hogan's Five Lessons and Tommy Armour's Play your best... Ken

	In addition to the Penick book, I received another interesting book this year. It's entitled "So you think you know Golf?" It's a quiz question and answer book on just about everything you ever wanted to know about golf. Your asked 35 question on each catagory such as Clubs, the Masters. Amatuers, etc. and you test your knowledge of the game. Very interesting reading. Some questions really test your skills. If anyone is interested, I'll post the author and publisher. Ken

	Barnes and Noble (in Nashua, NH) has a good supply of Harvey Penick's Little Red Book at 30% off. regularly $19.00 now $13.30. It is a great book, except the name dropping (personal preference). It has great pointers on getting kids involved in golf and how they should be taught as well as just about every other subject. JS

	I read that a sequel is coming out to the little red book. Can't recall name of new book by same author
