1615.1 | I like them

I have recently switched to golsmith's square toed
blade. Although I have only a 5 iron and wedge so far
as a test. I have been very happy with the blades
performance. With the high-toe I find it very easy
to line-up the club-head. Because of that, I have also
been able to "work" the ball with a new found confidence.
I plan to have the complete set by spring. The only
problem I'm having the choice of shaft, graphite
vs metal.

1615.2 | Visualizing does seem easier... | TFH::TODD | | Thu Dec 31 1992 11:02 | 15 |
| Regarding the Wedge...
So I'm hearing you say the the square lines are giving you a
assistance in lining up to the target. Thus, when you attempt
"work" the ball your visualizing better, the result is improvement.
Do you notice a difference in club head speed thru contact with
the ball, and or, notice improvement in flight characteristics
compared with your previous round (assumed) toed wedge.

The thing with the Golfsmith Wedges are that the bounce is 13 deg.
thats more than I want for a fairway wedge...4-10 deg. max.

1615.3 | Shaft was only speed difference I noticed | SOFBAS::SULLIVAN | | Mon Jan 04 1993 10:39 | 11 |

I only seemed to notice a speed difference when using the graphite
shaft. As far as the bounce, I use 3 wedges so I don't seem to have
a problem with that plus the square grooves do stop nice. I hit my
stadard wedge 120-135 and my SW 80-95 so I'm not sure if bounce is a
factor for me.
All I know is that I hit the ball cleaner and had better control over
the line and setup. Just one mans opinion. As we know , whatever works
for you is the best.
