Assuming that these are the brand/quality/flex shafts that you
wanted and that you aren't just doing this for the color:
I would take the burgandy to silver because I think that that
would look the least 'trendy' (meaning 2 years from now somebody
won't say - hey you must have bought that club in 1993).
Of course you could get your clubs reshafted every year....
What are you buying anyway? Just curious.

| I'm really sorry.....but the color of the club should have nothing
to do with your purchase if in fact you are golfing for the sport
and not just to look good out there.

1603.3 | 'color is psychological' | CSLALL::WEWING | | Fri Oct 23 1992 10:40 | 7 |
| color is a very important psychological issue.
if the three color combos are all the same shaft,
what is the harm in picking a color you like?
lighten up!

| RE: The Color.
I'm only guessing, but the name on the original note makes me think the
issue might be marketing as well as style. My 2 worth is that a ladies club
should have light soft colors so black and/or bright flashy colors are poor
choices. Certainly the soft pinks, power blues etc will get more notice to
start the conversation. (Assuming of course that that's the idea)

I think Linda has a good point. I have been looking into new clubs
and graphite shafts. And boy, there sure are a whole lot of colors
out there. But, in the case of Aldila the different colors have
different tourque ratings... Be carefule that the colors are just
colors and not a manufactures way of having different tourque ratings
or this could really get you in trouble without knowing.

| Jack,
I couldn't agree with you more! And, I am a woman golfer.
I recently had graphite shafts put on my woods, and the color
was last on my list if at all.

| Thanks, Eunwha - I like to stay on the good side of the golfing
Lenehans... Actually, I probably should have lightened up. Apparently,
golf companies have done extensive marketing to show that many female
consumers like things like color-coordinated shafts, just as guys like
maco sounding names for drivers, etc. As long as people like 'em, and
the companies make 'em, it sure doesn't matter to me what color they
are. I used to be a "purist," and now look at me - Yonex driver and 4
wood, Edge irons - New Wave, dude ! At least I still have a circa 1935
Wilson R-90 SW, though...
