Tried to find these but to no avail. Would like info on Passaconaway, Overlook, and Green Meadows, which sound like they might be good candidates. I have a group coming in from out of town. We will be playing on a Friday. Need to know: 1: Weekday Greens Fees. 2: Phone Numbers 3: Tee times - do we need them, or do you show up and wait? If so, how far ahead can you reserve/how long will the wait be. 4: Dress codes - I don't mind wearing slacks and collared shirts to golf, but I don't want to show up under dressed 5: Crowds. Some of our gang doesn't shoot 70, but you wouldn't know it by our speed of play. We might try to avoid places where we'll be waiting ten minutes at every tee as a rule (and try to play through the exceptions) We have one foursome, maybe two. Our group includes a few trying to break 100, and a few reliving their trip to the state tournament. Thanks in advance for your help. John Murphy DTN 225-4964 rock::murphy

One other thing I may suggest, try Souhegan Woods in Amherst (?), I saw a coupon in the paper the other night for weekday, for 2 people, 18 holes with cart for $46. Expired october 16. by the way, with the exception of Green Meadows, the others you mention require collared shirts (though Overlook allows women to wear whatever they want) --Bob
1590.3 | Played Green Meadows - Thanks. | ROCK::MURPHY | Wed Sep 16 1992 11:17 | 14
Made the excursion to Green Meadows last Friday. Actually, using dir/title I was able to find the courses, but not the numbers. I have them from directory assistance and may post them here just for a FAQ. We were pretty happy with GMCC, $16 is reasonable for greens fees, and the course was pretty nice, with a mixture of easy holes and some trouble (played the south course). More trees than I am used to (Colorado native, Univ of Ill grad in May - no trees in Boulder or Champaign), so it was nice to have some scenery and be required to keep the shots tight. Seems like (if the other courses near Nashua are nicer) that it is worth the drive to Nashua to play while I am exiled to Massachusetts. Thanks John |
