    Hi,

I will be in Highfield Park for training from 29 September through
10 October, staying the weekend in between. I'm thinking about
bringing my clubs with me but I'm not sure if its worth it.

Is there a golf course close by (no car)? How much are green fees?
Is it possible to get 9 in after training is over for the day
    5 or 6 o'clock?

Are there any golfers interested in letting me join them? I don't
really have a handicap but if I did it would be around 15.

    Thanks for any info,

    Perry

Most of the courses around Highfield are private courses and do not
accept visitors at weekends. There is a municipal course in Camberley
called Pine Ridge, which is absolutley terrific. It has only been open
about 6 months and as yet the Club house is not completed. You can book tee
times for a weekend 7 days in advance and last time I tried I managed
    to get on quite easily.

The course has been reclaimed from woodland and provides one or two
really challenging holes. All the tee's have been finished off using
pine logs (hence the name I guess), all in all it provides a lovely
    setting.

Camberley is about 20 miles from Highfield and you would need transport
    to get there.

I doubt you'd get 9 holes in after class as it begins getting dark
about 7.30 and is "pitch black" by 8.00.

I am not aware of other courses near to Highfield where you would get a
game without being a guest of a member.

    Good luck
    Mark
