The other day I went to buy some new golf balls, I like using the MaxFli DDH II and DDH III's. What I noticed were that the balls now appear to have the name Dunlop DDH II/III. Are they the same ball?? The box looked roughly the same, and on some of my current maxfli's, they say Dunlop in small letters on "the side" (if a sphere can have a side) of the ball while saying MaxFli on "the front". The other reason I am hesitant about buying them is that next to them were the next step up in maxfli's (sorry forget the name), these still had the brand name of Maxfli. Are dunlop DDH II/III the same as MaxFli DDH II/III?? --Bob

1533.2 | Maxfli ST | GRANPA::RFAGLEY | things that make you go hmmmm... | Mon Jun 22 1992 15:47 | 4 |
I believe the new Maxfli ST is the top of the line, wound, surlyn ball these days. The DDH is an economy ball usually found in 15 packs. The DDH is a two-piece model.
1533.3 | Trademark of Dunlop/Slezinger | MAIL::ANDERSONB | Thu Jun 25 1992 18:12 | 3
I noticed on a Maxifli add that it is the trademark of the Dunlop/Slezinger Corp (sp).
1533.4 | Maxfli CD/MD/HT balls | CGOOA::DURNIN | Wed Jul 08 1992 17:08 | 24
Hi, re: .2 The Maxfli ST is not a very popular ball and such Maxfli has put out the Maxfli CD (solid center, wound with Surlyn) and the new Maxfli MD (max. distance). The third in this series and the first overall from a performance perspective is the tour player Balata ball Maxfli HT (liquid center). All in this series utilize the same dimple pattern and the new CD and MD balls are levering off the success of the HT on the Pro Tour. The original MD balls I have played and they are excellent from a distance and control perspective. The spin rate is a little lacking as per most solid balls. The CD wound surlyn balls I expect will match or outperform the Wilson Staff balls. I just purchased some and will try them soon. Hope this helps, JD |
