Walta,
Portsmouth is on Great Bay, very pretty. But if the weather
is bad....
The course is well maintained, greens are fast. Nothing real
tricky about the course. It's just a great course. I am sure
that you'll enjoy the Pro-Am.
There is a practice area as you drive in. Men's on the left,
women's on the right.
directions:
from I-95 (1) take NH 101 West (exit 3)
(2) take first right ( note that there will be a golf
course directly in front of you as you turn, as the
road bends left the course will be on your right.
This is "NOT" Portsmouth country club. This is the
Pease Air Force Base course. Yes, I know Pease is
closed, but I don't know the name of the course now.)
(3) follow the road to the Portsmouth Country Club
The club will be on your right, if you come to a
street light you have driven past the club.

Hi Everyone,
Portsmouth CC was really nice. Its pretty wide open and required
some BIG tee shots to get home in regulation. The last hole played 472
into the wind par 4 !
It was an especially fun day because WE WON the Pro Am ! No
thanks to my play... the B and C players, Kenny and Dom birdied 4 stroke
holes between them . Our team ended up 6 under gross, 14 under net. Which
was low enough to win both categories, but they only pay one. So we got
the low gross money.
I felt bad I didn't help more. The one hole I made birdie on,
Kenny and Dom birdied also ! Of course when my son is old enough
to read, and I show him the Herald's Sport section and he sees
Daddy's name... I might forget to mention the insignificance of my
performance :) .
sometimes it's not how you play, but who you play with
