1496.0. "Memphis courses?" by ACESMK::LINDQUIST () Fri Apr 03 1992 13:43

Could someone provide any insight into courses in the Memphis
Tenn. area? I will be spending a few months there and would
like to take advantage of off time hours.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I entered a note back in spring time last year about golf in this area
and did not get a lot of response. It appears that not many DECies
play or read this notes conference from that area. I found golf in
Nashville to be very good and affordable. I went to Memphis and found
through Golf Digest that 2 cousrses were recommended in the area. I
played one of them and it was nice although it was in the $30-35 dollar
    range.

The Digest article listed all the top courses in the state. The name
escapes me right now but I will try and look it up.

    Good Luck, JD

    Hi,

The golf course I played in Memphis was Stonebridge at 901-382-1886.
It was a very nice course with Bent grass greens which are the very
    best to putt on.

The other that is recommended by Golf Digest as a public course is
    Big Creek at 901-353-1654.

Good luck and Good ball striking,

    Jim
