Mike,
was also thinking of switching to 845s.
From everyone I know that plays with them I have heard two words:
"the best"
take it from there,

| Mike,
You did get my attention.
I have tried the 845's at a range a couple of times.
I like the looks and the feel of these clubs and they
performed nicely.
Seconding what Angelo said:
I know a half dozen or so golfers who now use the
845's and they're all satisfied customers.

Mike
I went into Nevada Bob's and went straight for the '845s.
The "golf pro" there asked two questions :
1. have you ever hit off set irons?
2. how long have you been hitting
tour head forged?
I hit both the Hogan Edge and the '845s.
I told him the Hogan edge "felt better".
He felt they would be better for me plus you lose less distance
on Hogan edge as they retain somewhat of a smaller sweet spot
than 845s but is still larger than a tour , which is what I need.
So it's Hogan Edge time,

Well the income tax check came in and I took a ride to Hartford,CT
(I live in Worcester) over the weekend. I went to a store called
Golfers Warehouse, Now I must say this is one of the most unbelievable
golf stores I have ever been in. There are at least 150-200 full
sets of demo-clubs there for the hitting,at least 200 bags on display
and plenty of clothes and accessories also anout 10 hitting stations.
Well as my base note stated I was asking about Tommy 845s, I hit
them along with about 7 other types of clubs (Power
Built,Cleveland Classics ,Pings, Hogan Edge, Maruman, Lynx) well
you get the idea. The staff in this place are very helpful and
by no means rush you to get in and out. The club that I was hitting
the most consistant out of all was the Titleist DCI so needless
to say that is what I bought 3-9,pw retail for $429.00 plus Conn.
sales tax I also bought a 2 iron the whole load came to $489.00
you get a 3% discount if you pay cash. In my opinion if a store
of this caliber came to this area Nevada Bob's would go out of
business. Thanks for all the replys.

1477.8 | Tommy Aaron... not Armour.. ??? | INDEV1::GSMITH | I need two of everything | Tue Mar 31 1992 16:28 | 18 |
| I too just went to Nevada Bobs yesterday. I am also interested in the
845's... I think anyway. The salesman showed me a set of Tommy Aaron's
which look *very* close to the Armours. They have the dynamic 'top of
the line' shaft (not counting graphite... etc).. head looks much like
the 845's..
The difference... is about $150.00+ just for the irons (less). He
wasn't pushing me into anything... just suggesting if I want to save
some $$, try the Aaron's. I hit um and they fely pretty good..
Anybody hit these clubs? The salesman said they are selling very fast.
I hit Spaulding Execs right now... had um for 10 years. Was on the
first tee at Heather Hill (par 3)... hit my 5 iron ... and the head
of the club went farther than the ball!!!! I was 'thinking' new clubs
anyway....

1477.9 | My son bought Tommy Aaron Clubs
| VISUAL::SOUDERS | | Thu Apr 02 1992 11:11 | 6 |
| Last year my son bought Tommy Aaaron clubs at Nevada Bob's. He is very pleased
with them. We were playing golf last year in Maine and I used his clubs to hit
some shots and I was pleasantly surprised. They felt very good. Well balanced
and good feel.

Jack..
Can I ask why you were 'pleasantly surprised'? Was it with the clubs..
or that you hit the shots... :^) No really... The clubs run about
$325 irons only... Not the most expensive on the market... but not
cheap either. They look feel almost exactly like the 845's... which
run about $450. For $325ish I would expect good feel and balance.
