My wife recently acquired a new set of graphite clubs and is rather concerned about how to protect the shafts (in the bag) against scratches and knocks. The pro suggested NOT to use tubes, as they rub against the shafts. Any suggestions? Peter

I noticed in some of the magazines that there are bags that are specially made for this purpose. They have the "tube" type construction at the top of the bag and are lined all the way down to protect the shafts. They also make special covers that go further down the shaft to protect the lower portion (near the club head). I have one such cover that I use on my JUMBO driver. It's a good idea to protect these shafts as it can get expensive to keep replacing them. Good luck! Bob Montville | |||||

I had my wife pick up a scrap piece of "fur" material at a sewing shop and sewed velcro onto it. I then lined the top of my bag with it. I also have the long head covers but they did not provide the necessary protection. I have also seen in the mail order magazines fur lined inserts. These will only work with the bags that have the removable dividers. |
