Balls: Use to play Titleist exclusively but now I've found that

differentiate and of higher quality. Too expensive though,
so I've been happy playing balls I find in the woods.

1422.13 | Old MacGregor Tourneys | LUDWIG::TREMBLAY | | Fri Jan 17 1992 16:39 | 13 |
| from .4 to .10
my 1958 Macgregor Tourneys - I've got the whole set! 1,3,4,5 woods
2-SW (no PW) I reshafted the 5 wood with an Aldila HM-40 and put some
lead under the sole plate to bring the swingweight up. I also put a
wrapped calfskin grip on it - my pride and joy. I reshafted the irons
with Dynamic Golds and had them rechromed but the old forged blades
aren't as forgiving as my newer Tourneys. The other woods haven't
been touched but I have some plans for them in the future as I've taken
up club building and repair as a hobby in the last few years. They
were a gift from my father-in-law who bought them new in 1959 as left-
overs. Great set of sticks but I can't hit them very well.

1422.19 | A "Nit..." | MRKTNG::VARLEY | | Mon Jan 20 1992 16:30 | 10 |
| Re: .6 - I left out one detail:
Glove - Neumann calf or Foot-Joy "Weathersoft." If you haven't tried
the latter, you're missing out on a good thing. Quite a bit cheaper
than the "Sta-Soft" and it feels as good and lasts longer. IMO, the all
time best glove was the old "Star-Grip." Wore out like a Kleenex, but -
what a "Feel." I finally woke up and realized that at my level of play,
I should consider cost effectiveness a bit when buying gloves...

really matter - as long as the flex is right and the grips are new and fit
your hands.
