Well, the "semi-annual" (birthday and Xmas) request went in once
again. All I want for Xmas is a full-set of Ping's. I don't think
it will happen again.....but one can sure hope!
Second, I think my in-laws purchased some lessons for me...I sure
need help with the short game. I wish I could get the ball to
"check-up".
Happy holidays.... And remember, theres only 3 more first Fridays
until were out there again.

1407.3 | "Metal is Wood?" | NEMAIL::GLASS | | Thu Dec 26 1991 15:24 | 10 |
| After watching Nicklaus use a metal "wood", I announced my desire for
one and got it.
My wife bought me a 9.5 degree, pear shaped driver that feels great now
and hopefully will allow me to hit longer drives.
I won't play up here for sometime, but may get into South Carolina in
one of my frequent trips!
Happy New Year to all,

| Santa delivers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only golf item I requested was a Ping 1-iron. My dear old mom
came through and what a club it is !! Already hit several 220 plus
rockets right down the middle !!! Why didn't I ask for the whole
set ????????????????????????????

| Hey One Ton
One Iron? Sounds like you plan on lowering your handicap, or playing
in the wind a lot. I still think Trevino has it right about one
irons..."Not even God can hit a one iron."
Happy Holidays

1407.7 | Just what the Dr. ordered | DPDMAI::VENEZIO | Does dry wine come from raisins | Tue Dec 31 1991 11:45 | 11 |
| Well the wife didn't let me down. I asked for and got the Leadbetter
instructional book. After a quick glance it looks alot like the Hogan
book with a few swing changes.
Best gift was from my parents. A video camcorder. After I went out and
purchased a tripod, it looks like a natural fit for the new book. I'll
be spending some hours on the range trying to work on my swing. The
plan is to work with the book, take a few lessons early in the year and
video practice sessions for best results.

That's exactly what Karsten into trouble. All of a sudden guys like
Calchevcchia ( Mr.Shank) are hitting one irons. Prior to Ping, the
only thing one irons were good for was holding up Tomato plants.
Have a happy New Year

1407.10 | New wedge. | BIGRED::DUANE | Send lawyers, guns & money | Thu Jan 02 1992 12:37 | 10 |
| Santa brought me a new Wilson 1200TN "T" wedge. I think the "T"
means "Third". Anyway it is a little more lofted than my "S"
wedge (after I saw the "T", I'm not sure anymore whether the "S"
means "Sand" or "Second"). Anyway, I'm hoping this will help my
medium-short game; you know - the I'm-60-yards-from-the-pin,-now
what-do-I-do blues. Outside of about 85 yards or inside of 25
yards, I'm fine, so now we'll see what happens as soon as the
South Texas monsoon aftermath dries up a little.

| Well, my Christmas gift was a trip back home (Mexico City) to visit my
family and from there fly to the southeast of Mexico to do a 10 day tour
to many remote places without any golf courses within several hundred
miles.
Things didn't go well with that portion of the trip and we had to go back
to Mexico City early. Since the family was expecting some time away from
the city, my wife managed to get a room in an old hacienda converted to a
resort that has a reasonable 9 hole course, and I was able to play a
couple of rounds in 70 weather. Great present!
