This past monday my Spalding Executive 1-Iron became dislodged about an 1.5 inches up on the shaft. It is peculiar that this should have happened since the club is less than a year old. I went to the golf shop where I purchased my set and the owner gave me a song-an dance about how it is not covered under the warranty (?) since it was the shaft and not the club. He said that he will discuss with the Spalding Rep when he arrives at his shop this week. The question I have is.. Am I wrong in expecting them to replace or fix the 1-iron completely without compensation on my part? Thanks in advance.. Steve

Normally I wouldn't expect too much after this period of time. But, since the shaft apparently came loose, take a shot and give it to the "Rep." Unfortunately, you can expect it to take some time, so don't call the pro too soon or too often. I'd give him a couple of weeks at least, before I expected an answer. If it turns out to be a complete fiasco, let me know. I know some folks at Spalding, and I'll help if I can. --Jack | |||||
