Pam,
I have palyed it many times. I relly like it. It's an old course with
a traditional layout. Not too tight or long but nice holes. It used
to be The premiere course in the area. The likes of Bob Jones, Babe
Ruth etc. have played there. It's quite an interesting place that reeks
of history. if you're in the area check it out.

| Pam,
I too have played there. If I remember correctly it was one of the only
courses that I have played that back-to-back par 5's, holes 10&11 or
9&10. As refered to in .1 the place reeks with tradition. I found
it a great course in the fall with a great view of the Mt. Washington
valley. We saw moose tracks around a few of the lower greens. It
is a must course to visit in N.E. The mens locker room has many
photos if the Babe teeing off and hanging out around the hotel.
I have heard a nasty rumor that the hotel filed for chpt. 11 or 13.
But I have not read anything about it. It was my understanding that
the hotel was being refurbished/modernized the last few years.
I would wait until mid-summer to play or you maybe carried away
by the N.H. state bird, the black fly. Enjoy the round.

Mt Washington Hotel has filed for bankrupcy. They tried to refurbish
the hotel for the past 5 years, but the cost is outragous (something
like $10m).
As far as the course goes, I didn't really care for it. I've played it
twice, but the fairways were like a cow pasture. I guess I'm use to the
more modern American courses.

1277.4 | Has it been sold? | TSO02::STACK | | Sun Jun 30 1991 14:31 | 5 |
| I thought I just heard briefly on the news this weekend that the resort
was sold. Can anyone verify this and provide some more info? Thanks.

1277.5 | Yes, it was sold to local group | MR4DEC::JBENNETT | John Bennett | Mon Jul 01 1991 12:11 | 11 |
| The report I read in the paper said that a local (to that area)
group of people bought the resort complex for several million dollars.
(It was on the market last year for about $20M I'd heard). They
plan to invest $10M or so, especially to convert the hotel into
an all season hotel. The report I read mentioned that the hotel
owned "9 holes" ... I believe that the golf course was sold along
with the Bretton Woods Resort to a separate group of investors
several years ago.
