1188.0. "Palm Spring..??" by CSCMA::LABAK () Mon Mar 25 1991 09:05

Does anyone know if you can mail order Palm Spring golf clubs?
Since I know the model number I want and what the pro shops are
selling these for, I was wondering want the differance in price
would be. They were the Palm Spring Tour Balance clubs.
Retail $309.00. On sale (ya right) for $247.00.

I know that spags has the the Spalding Executives for $249.00
(don't quote me here) with a free putter from Spalding, is this
    a better deal?

This will only be my second year of playing and my first set of
    clubs. Comments please.

    Thanks for the help.

Palm Sprins Golf Company and Pro Golf Discount have been doing
some joint advertising this month. They had a commercial on during
one of the golf tournaments this weekend and an ad in Golf Magazine.
I believe Pro Golf has stores and a mail order division. Golf
Digest has the most mail order ads. Invest in a copy.

    Re: PAlm Springs Clubs

Pretty good clubs, but you can sure get clubs with greater resale value
for $250. Probaly a used set of Hogans, Primas are avaialble. Bet a
club pro shop would set you up with a personalized set of used clubs if
you went in with $250 and said, "What can I get for this..."

If this is only your second year playing I would go with the Exec
    clubs.

They are very forgiving club..And for metal woods that seems like a
    very good price..

Thanks for your comments so far. I started looking into used after
some of the replies. Can someone tell me where the closest MVP sports
is around Worcester MA? That even beats Spag's price.

I just spoke with someone about the Spalding Exec's and they told
me I should stay away from them being a 2nd year player, because
they have a "Tour Blade". Are these also perimeter weighted??
    Opinions Please...

around this time of year Herman's has a sale and usually Spaulding
    Exec's are on sale.

I found them easy to hit basically but probably not for the low
    hcapper.

Also shop around by phone or by ads and then ask the closest place to
    match the best price.

Hi,

My husband is about to buy a set of Palm Spring metal woods. Don't
know the 'model name', but three "metal" woods for around $175.

Any comments? I know they are stiff shaft, but I don't know much
more about them.

He is a casual golfer, about to start playing more often.

Thank you,
