Dennis Pines Golf Course , RT 134 in Dennis, tight and long from the blue tees.
It does get a lot of play could be a GREAT course with a little more work.
385-8347
Dennis Highlands is another course in Dennis, don't know if it will be open
for the summer by the time you go down. If it is, the greens can be VERY
difficult depending on the pin placement. Play it from the blue tees.
Same phone number as for Dennis Pines.
Cranberry Valley, Harwich I played it about 10 years ago. I really enjoyed
it. Long walks between tees. 432-6300
Captains Course, Brewster Great course 896-5100
Blue Rock, Yarmouth This a par 3 course. It is a well kept course
always fun to play. 398-9295
.New Seabury, You have to stay at New Seabury in order to play I believe,
or know someone. If I played all these other courses and didn't play
New Seabury I wouldn't feel as though I had missed out. 477-9110
Willowbend, Not sure of the town but the phone is 477-8888 Another note in
this conference recommends it. I've heard though that after April 1st
it will no longer be open to the public.
I plan on giving it a try before April 1.
A place to stay that is more or less centrally located would probably
be the town of Yarmouth. All the courses can be reached in at most
30 minutes. On the RT 28 in yarmouth and Hyannis you can find lots
of places to eat and stay in for not a lot of money.
Tee times would probably be needed at these courses.

1181.2 | My Two Cents... | ASABET::VARLEY | | Fri Mar 15 1991 09:46 | 8 |
| Of all the places I've played, Dennis Pines is one of my very
favorites. IMO, Cranberry Valley is overrated and a waste of time.
Pleasant enough course, just not worth a trip or all the hype. Iyanough
Hills is a better layout, and Round Hill is supposed to be pretty good.
Sometimes in the off season you can get on Hyannisport, which is REAL
good, or Plymouth, which is even better.

1181.4 | CRANBERRY, THE BEST COURSE IN CAPE COD | BPOV06::LONGO | | Fri Mar 15 1991 15:46 | 12 |
| REF: .2
Jack,
I am very happy that you like Dennis Pine. I hope that more people
like you stay away from CRANBERRY VALLEY so my chances of getting
tee-off-time will improve.
BTW, did any Cape course ever made the "top 50 best list" besides
CRANBERRY?

1181.5 | Cranberry is one of the best. | VICKI::MANSOR | | Thu Mar 21 1991 12:35 | 11 |
| re: .2
I agree with .4 that Cranberry is one of the best courses on Cape
Cod. Always in great shape and the layout offers quite a challenge,
especially the last two holes! Worth every penny.
In my opinion, I think the Captains in Brewster is the one that's
hyped and overrated!

1181.6 | Forgot Bass River again! | AKOCOA::BREEN | | Fri Mar 29 1991 13:55 | 7 |
| why does everyone alsways omit Jim Hallet's old course Bass River
another Yarmouth course.
Because of prevailing wind I always thought it a challenge (and a
challenge to get a tee time)
