| Ken, you took a VINYL (!!) cover into Augusta National and they let
you play ? Seriously, get a canvas cover. Mostt of the better clubs
have 'em in small bag and large bag sizes. I believe Ralph Maltby,
NevadaBob, Edwin Watts etc. sell 'em. How did you like Augusta ? Were
the members relatively "normal ?"

| My bag made it to Augusta, and stayed in the trunk while I attended the
Masters. I only wish.
My trips (twice) included Hilton Head for 4 days, and the Augusta for a
few more days. BTW, if you get to Augusta, play the Jones Creek course.
It's difficult to play Masters week but worth hanging around for. The
back nine resembles the back nine at Augusta Nat'l.
Thanks for the advise. I'll check the shops you mentioned. Do they have
the covers that convert to a bag?

| The covers that convert to bags are heavy, not very practical and
expensive. Hell, if you got a nylon one, you coud stuff it in the pouch
of your golf bag if you had to. I think that I'd now vote for a Cordura
cover, on second thought.
This is one of those cases where you can't find one tool to do two
separate jobs done (IMO).

1162.4 | 2 (light) bags in one carryall? | BUFFER::FAULDS | | Fri Sep 25 1992 13:03 | 16 |
| My wife and I are going to Bermuda next week and want to take our golf clubs.
I checked out notes 196, and 536 (that Bermuda story didn't help at all :^0 ).
I was hoping to squeeze her Ping lightweight bag and my Sun Mountain Eclipse
into one canvas carryall (which I haven't purchased yet). Is this ridiculous?
I didn't want to buy two carryalls or have to hope that the airline could
get TWO golf bags over to Bermuda as separate pieces of luggage.
I've never taken golf clubs anywhere by plane so...let me have it!
Regards,
Rob
ps. Any info on public accessible courses in Bermuda much appreciated. We've
checked out Fodor's, etc but I'd like to hear from you Noters. Thx.

| Buy two bags...It will be pretty awkward trying to carry the one bag with 2
sets of clubs in it. Some allow make it easy to pull out your strap which
makes the lugging easier. I've never had a problem transporting clubs,
especially when headed towards a destination where people are expented to golf!
(You should see all the clubs coming off the plane in Savannah).
I saw a tip that the pros take their clubs out of the bag & put them in head
end first. That way if a club gets broken it's only that shaft & those can be
replaced.
I've never been to Bermuda, put know some golfers who've been. They all liked
playing at Port Royal.
