1131.0. "Incredible GOLF shots " by RAYBOK::COOPER (One-ton Tomato !) Mon Jan 14 1991 19:52

I witnessed the most incredible golf shot this last weekend
that I have seen in the 5 short years I have been playing.
Our golf league plays year round here in central California
and we were having a 4-player scramble at the Pajaro Valley
GC in Watsonville. It was a par 4, 345 yard hole. Three of
us had hit O.B. so we decided to play the only drive in the
fairway, a 120 yd dribbler that at least was playable. To get
to the green required fading the ball between a tall pine and
the woods on the right. Mike Murphy stepped up with his 3-wood
and ripped a beautiful shot that took off and faded around the
trees, at last sight it was headed towards the green. Upon getting
to the green we looked everywhere but couldn't find his ball.
Finally, as a joke, Lou walked over and looked in the cup.
You guessed it, IN THE HOLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We won the scramble by 2 strokes.

Yow ! What a shot ! Congratulations on the win !

It's funny, if you guys had driven to 50 yards of the green you'd
have probably got a par ! How many times have you birdied a hole
after a poor tee shot? Such a screwed up game!

I HOPE HE TOOK THAT BALL AND SAVED IT AS A REMINDER THAT YOU DON'T HAVE
TO BE A PRO TO MAKE A GREAT SHOT!!
