1106.1 | I KNOW This One is Great ! | ASABET::VARLEY | | Thu Nov 01 1990 09:46 | 8 |
| I don't have any contacts there, but if you've got any business
contacts or golf professional pals, have 'em give the Country Club of
Baltimore a call to get you on their "Five Farms" course. It's an old
Tillinghast coursethat is probably one of the best in the U.S. I
imagine if you do get on without a member (forget weekends) it'll run
you $100, or around $65 with a member.

| If your looking for a Muny. Try Pine Ridge. One of the best anywhere. I
think it may be in Towson.
Trust Jack and play Five Farms if you can, but it may not be easy.

1106.4 | Another trip to Baltimore | SUBSJF::LANDRIGAN | | Mon Feb 08 1993 12:21 | 12 |
| Had to do a search to find it, but I figured someone had made a trip once before
to Baltimore :-).
A bunch of rotisserie guys in DEC are planning a golf outing in the summer to
the Baltimore area (to be combined with a couple games at Cambden Yards).
1. Anyone in the area interested in joining us? We could use a good guide.
2. Anyone who might have advice on where to play?
thx,

| I don't know what your guidelines are, or if you have any connections
at Private clubs. If you do, the "Five Farms" course at Baltimore C.C.
is a Tillinghast masterpiece.
If you can travel to the D.C. area there are others, like TPC at
Avenel, that you might be able to get on. Don't know anything about
Publinx in that area.

1106.6 | pennant race and 36 holes -- can't wait!!! | FREE::GOGUEN | SportsCenter: best  hour on TV! | Fri Aug 13 1993 15:08 | 16 |
| Brian (.4) and I are among a small group that will be golfing (and
watching Oriole) games late next month. Brian has been TFSO'd, so I'm
taking over his search for internal course recommendations.. :)
.2 talks of Pine Ridge in Towson (AAA book says Lutherville) -- that
was one on his list to get opinions on. Others that he's investigating
are Diamond Ridge in Woodlawn and Mt. Pleasant within the city limits.
I also see Forest Park Golf Course in the AAA book.
We're only playing two days, so at this point, we'll likely go with
Pine Ridge and one other, based on any other opinions -- anybody
familiar with one of these other courses??
Thanks......

| my brother lives in baltimore.
contact me via vaxmial (cslall::wewing) and i can probably
put you in touch with him. he could run down all the courses
in the MD, PA, VA area for you as he plays in a traveling
league.
i've played pine ridge before. it is a good course.
i've played mt. pleasant (actually a golf course within
the city). it is sort of like building a golf course on
the boston common.
i have a diamond ridge score card in front of me.
it is wide open and greens fees are reasonable.
par is 70,

rating 71 70.2 73.2
slope 120 119 123
you can make tee times in advance. it is in baltimore county and
the number is 410 944-6607
we also played geneva farms golf club in Street, MD 410 893-1114
geneva farms is in a housing development that didn't sell that
well so it is a relatively new course. it is an hour northwest
of b'more. worth the drive.

also played oakmont green in Hempstead, MD 410 374-1500
again, an hour or two north of b'more, also in a planned housing
development. i don't think this one was worth the drive.
