there was a question in the boston globe similar to yours
in the past month. it was on a monday when they have recreation
pages in the sports page. i say you call the globe sports
department and ask for the golf editor (i think his name
is paul haney or paul harney).
he seemed to know a lot about it in the article.

Golf Academy of the South is located at 307 Daneswood Way, Casselberry
Fl. (407)699-1990. Its located at Deer Run CC but its students play at
2 other courses as well. I've had the chance to play with some of the
students at my home course, and most go on the be golf pros. In fact
both assistant pros at my course are alumni of the Academy.
Hope this helps.

1084.3 | Try Penn State | DPDMAI::VENEZIO | MY other car is a GOLFCART | Mon Oct 01 1990 16:51 | 7 |
| Penn State also offers a degreed program in "becoming a golf pro" They
learn things like Club Management, Merchandising, Agronimy (sp)
In todays market you need a certain amount of schooling to become a
Class A professional. That's why not all players are eligible for the
Ryder Cup. I believe you must be a Class A PGA Member to play in the
Ryder Cup for the US.
