1005.0. "Stores in UK?" by STKAI1::LANTZ (PETER LANTZ @SOO) Mon Jul 09 1990 04:53

I'm going to London in the end of August and intend to buy clubs
for me (HCP26) and my wife (HCP34 going down). Where can I find
a store with good prices (!!) and quality products?

You could always try a shop which goes by the name of:-

    Aladdins Cave of Golf.

Its a massive big shop, suppossedly one of the largest golf stores in
the country. I'm not exactly sure of the address but it is on the
outskirts of London in a place called Uxbridge, which is about 14 miles
from the city centre. You can get to it either by driving along the A40
and following the signs to Uxbridge and you'll drive past it. Or you can
take either a Piccadilly or a Metropolitan tube to Uxbridge, walk out the
station down the lane that faces you for about 200 yards and its in the
middle of the roundabout facing you.

    POL.

    Hi Pete,
Hope I can be of some assistance. I live in London and know
from bitter expierence that buying clubs in London is a real pain.
My advice to you is to buy on of the golfing magazines available
such as Todays Golfer or Golf Monthly. There are plenty of adverts
in them offering what they call "amazing prices" but not as cheap
as the States. There are not many stores in the center of London
but a few discount stores have recently opened within an hours drive.

    Keep looking in the mags,

    Steve.
