957.0. "Golf in Northern Atlanta" by NSG035::ADAMS (Hope I die before I get old) Wed May 30 1990 22:23
Golfers in Northern Atlanta area (ALF,etc):
How many public courses, or non-restrictive (not limited to
a particular housing development, etc), are there in the East Cobb and
North Fulton areas? Can a person expect to able to play somewhere if
they are not a member of a private club? I tend to play evenings, avoiding
the weekend crush, so crowding is not an issue. I'm just curious as to
the number and location of courses.
And, are there any DEC leagues playing out of ALF?
Cross posted in the Atlanta notes file.

957.1 | nice public course in woodstock | ASDS::THRASHER | | Thu May 31 1990 09:45 | 13 |
| Eagle Watch in Woodstock is public and rated in the top 30 courses in
GA. It is an Arnold Palmer design. Although it is in a development, it
is open to the public. It is not cheap but they also have special
programs that give you discounts. It is about 35-40 minute drive from
the ALF facility. I also have a book of all the public courses in
Atlanta area. I will bring it in tomorrow and list them in another
reply to this note. By the way I am relocating to Atlanta and have
purchased a home in the Eagle Watch development. If any fellow noters
are headed for Atlanta this summer, send me mail and we can get
together for 18.
