| I'm a beginner and have only ever played at St. Marks, a nine-hole
course in Southborough.
This past Saturday, I played at Blissful Meadows Golf Club in
Uxbridge, Mass. and to my neophyte eye what a wonderful course
it was! Here's a summary:
o Nine holes right now, but I heard that they are expanding
to eighteen in the near future;
o Course architects: Geoffrey S. Cornish and Brian Silva;
o Proper dress required, no fivesomes allowed;
o Carts available (don't know the price), also two-wheeled
carts are availabe (don't know the price for them either);
o Pro Shop, restaurant/lounge seemed nice.
We played the course twice, once from the white markers (3011 yds.)
and once from the blue markers (3182 yds.) for a total of 6193 yds.
The course is out in the-middle-of nowhere and we were able to book
a 6:30 Saturday morning tee-time on a Friday afternoon.
The fairways (and entire course for that matter) were in great shape.
Most are very narrow with woods on both sides. Aside from letting
a twosome play through, there was no one within two holes in front of,
or behind us.
The greens were very fast, and tough (by my standards) due to slopes,
placement of pins in relation to bunkers, etc. I was playing with
experienced golfers and they were all 5-8 strokes over their normal
games.
I really like this course! Here's the detail off the scorecard:
