| Hi,
I have a set of metal woods that you could have very cheap.
It's Allied Pro Tradition ladies standard length which I
had cut 1 inch. I've used it for 2 years. If you are interested
send me mail.

You might want to consider a Jr. set. Chack Aulstads, they have them
very reasonable. They have two or three different sizes to choose
from.
They are on sale until March 31st. I bought a set for my daughter
and she loves them.

| Try the local pro shops. Here in California, I have found three great
used sets shopping with my local pro. Remember, children can use a set
of short clubs for only a brief period and they don't usually play as
frequently as adults. I found complete sets, bag, clubs, etc. in the
$25 to $65 range. ($25 was several years ago). Try it.

889.4 | Clubs at 9 | USEM::VOUTSELAS | | Wed Mar 14 1990 11:16 | 10 |
| Fred,
at 8, I cut down a set of mine for his use.
This also gives them the feeling of playing with "real"
like dad's" clubs.
All he had was 5 iron,7 iron, wedge and putter.
And off to Fresh Pond we would go, when no one was there.
I had plenty of extras, I wouldn't spend any "dollars" on a 9 yr
old that is growing.

889.5 | Buy used and shorten them... | MSEE::KELLEY | Golfaholic - Clubmaker | Tue Mar 20 1990 10:36 | 11 |

Fred,
As has allready been mentioned, buying some used clubs and
having them cut down to size is an inexpensive way to go.
And in doing it this way the clubs can also be extened later
when they have out-grown them at the shortened length. If you
buy a junior set you wouldn't really want to extend them.
Enjoy

Some pro shops offer junor sets (5, 7 and 9 irons, putter and
couple of woods with light bag) for about 50 to $65, and will upgrade
the set for fit yearly or bi yearly as the child grows increasing the
number of clubs for about 1/4 to 1/2 the price of junior sets after
original purchase. Great if there is continued intrest and growing
needs.
