| I purchsed a net last winter for $39.95 at Golfers Warehouse
in Cranston, R.I. It is a good quality net, 8' x 12' in
size with a sewn border that has metal eyelets to secure it
to a frame or whatever.
I set it up in my garage, hanging from the rafters. Used it
maybe six times before shanking a ball that bounced off a
table saw, flew by my head and went through one of the windows.
It is a nice net though.

Was given a net last christmas, it had a frame with it. It was
had at the golfers warehouse for 59.00 on sale from 79.00. The problem
I had was I was hitting balls through the net. I ended up throwing
a tarp over the clothes line which worked out much better. The net
seemed to be of pretty good quality though..

| Tom,
bought one from Goldsmith last year. Came with matt and target
plus the distances and exactly how a shot should traject.
Had to put up heavy duty sheets all over the place so my basement
looks like Arafat lives there. I can swing up to a four iron
in my basement without bringing the beams down!
It will tell you exactly how each shot should hit the target for a correct
shot. And in an unheated basement in the middle of winter, after
15 minutes , you will be "hot". Good workout.
It didn't help me as much last winter because I didn't know what
to work on and I was afraid of wrecking something. This year I
have specific things I want to do so it should be better.
I recomend it. Angelo

On a similar topic as the previous one about nets, I'm looking for
a little help. I am looking for a net that I can hang between 2
trees in my back yard. All the ones I see in the catelogs (Austads,
Golfworks etc) come with the frame, which I don't need. Any
suggestions?

Give Austads a call, I've seen what you're looking for in their
cat. before.
They don't list all their available items in every issue.

| You can also call the GOLFSMITH in Texas. their number is
1-800-456-3344. They have several different kinds of nets either
with or without frames. You could also just get a replacement net for a
framed model and hang it between trees. I saw one I like that hangs in
the opening of your garage when the door is up.

I'd expect a guy who hits ten pound balls to be hitting golf balls in his
garage. Can just see it now, "ping, ping, ping" ricoshet rabbit. Off
the washer, off the work bench, just missed the water heater and into
the cup ( for paint thinner). My neighbors would just love to see me
taking aim at their plate glass with nothing between us but a net.
They'd have the guys come after me with a net.
Seriously, those nets are great fun, but if you have them in the back,
try hanging two for safety sake. I can still see the 3 wood I hit one
day that went through the top of my net, cleared the fence, missed my
pine trees and cleared my neighbors two story house. Never did know
where it landed and I slinked away like Bill Murray in Caddyshack

767.8 | Where did it go ??? | RAYBOK::COOPER | One-ton Tomato ! | Mon May 20 1991 20:00 | 6 |
| I have had similar experiences with my backyard net. If you happen to
hit a bad shot it can go just about anywhere. I now hit from about six
feet in front to avoid missing the net altogether if I really hash up a
shot.

Ditto. Amazing how fast you can get the ball up sometimes.
