| Three nice courses that come to mind that are within an hour
drive are: Lake Sunapee Course in Sunapee, Eastman's in Grantham,
and the CC of NH in North Sutton. Eastman's is a bit north, and
CC of NH a bit south. I played CC of NH last week and it was in
good shape. $20 weekday/$23 weekend, carts were $22 for 18. Reserved
tee times would be advised.

635.2 | RECOMMEND EASTMAN | JAWS::DIAZ | CMG/CDG/SAMG | Tue Jun 06 1989 10:09 | 11 |
| I played Eastman's last year and though highly of it. It's of route
10 in Grantham. I still have a score card, but it doesn't have a
phone number. I think I entered some info about it last year. Its a
6338 yards, par 71 course, a little hilly with a lot of woods, as
most good N.H. courses.
I also played a small 9 hole course (2883 yards par 34) in Newport
in the other side of Sunappe Mtn. It's called John H. Cain Golf
Club and it's a good course for the money.

635.3 | The Urge to Return | MAMTS1::KVENEZIO | | Fri Jun 09 1989 16:24 | 10 |
| Mike, not to change the subject, but what's it like getting out
on the Black course at Bethpage these days as a single ? I'm going
to be up in the area over the fathers day weekend and wanted to
play the Black. I hear they have turned it around and it's in good
shape.
Growing up on LI and thinking of playing Golf at Bethpage (They
have 5 - 18 hole courses) was a nightmare. 5 hour waits were not
uncommon!!! Now that I've moved away, I have a desire to return
and play.

Ah yes the old days...well I'm 35 now and live in Londonderry NH after
5 years of living in the Denver/Boulder area...but I do remember my
first 24 years of life back on Long Island (Farmindale) - and
especially remember my 3 years as a caddy at the BIG ONE/Bethpage. 5 -
18 hole courses, hard to believe now but true, with land prices being
what they are. Give me a call, and we can re-live some old times....
My DTN is 261-2659
