Rick,
I hope you aren't to shocked when you get the info from Golf
USA. I sent for the info a while back and I was quite surprised
at the figures (I don't remember off the top of my head what they
were, so I won't guess at it)...

| I'll post numbers when the information arrives. I'm wondering if
100K would do it?

Rick, here's another way of asking "if 100K would do it".
Question: If DEC offered me the rumored Early Retirement package,
would I have enough dough to open a Golf store?
see ya at the 19th.,

| I've looked in to a few of these. Golf USA requires a $25K (a couple
of years ago, anyway) 'consulting' fee, then you have to purchase
your inventory and lease your building (approx. $150-200K). Integrity
Golf is around the same. These are not franchises. You own them
and pay no royalties. The consulting fee is a one time fee which
generally includes a training period, 2-4 weeks, a market survey,
assistance in preparing your business plan and securing a small
business loan. They also help you set up and open the store.
Nevada Bob's is a franchise, of which the rights to almost all of
New England are owned by an individual by the name of Pat (I think)
Riley. (No, not G.Q. Riley). The only exception is out west of
495 to Springfield. This man has the reputation of going into areas
and undercutting prices to drive competition out. (It's a strong
possibility this will happen to Golf USA in Nashua).
Pro Golf Discount is also a franchise. Sorry, I don't have too
much info on them.
Hope this helps a little. If anyone else has more info, I'd be
interested.
