       I've just stumbled across a new Golf Course named "Evergreen"

    	#4 = Par 5, 475 Yds.
    	#5 = Par 3, 171 Yds.
    	#6 = Par 4, 403 Yds.
    	#7 = Par 4, 322 Yds.
    	#8 = Par 3, 195 Yds.
    	#9 = Par 4, 221 Yds.

      note: It's a Public course, fees $7.00 weekdays $8.50 weekends

605.1Next to Rte 95?XANADU::CAMPBELLIt's only a CRIME if you get caught!Wed May 10 1989 15:069
    Hi,

    Is this the course that is right next to Rte 95? I was heading north
    on 95 and passed what I thought looked like a course in Newburyport,
    but wasn't sure if it was one.

    Thanks,

      Shawn

    re: .1

       Yup! It's "Evergreen" that's visible from Route# 95N at the Junction
     of Route #113 East (the Newburyport) exit off Route# 95. Directions:
     Follow Route# 113 East toward the City of Newburyport for about
     1/2 Mile, go past the Friendly's Restaurant on your left, then
     look for a Papa Gino's Restaurant on your right, then take an instant
     left (off Route# 113 East) at the Papa Gino's, they'll be a Cemetery
     on your left, at the end of that Road, take another left, and then
     you're on Ferry Rd., and you'll see the "Evergreen" sign at the
     entrance to a new (Boyd Dr.) Housing Development. note: the Course
     is sited half-way between the Cemetery and Route# 95 North, but
     you can't get directly to it from either Route# 95 or Route# 113.

605.3the "Trailer" is the ClubhouseVICKI::SMITHConsulting is the GameWed May 10 1989 18:0212
     re: .2

        "Evergreen" hasn't built a Clubhouse as yet it's a brand new
      Golf Course that's opened this Year. Thus, it doesn't have a
      19th. Hole, guess that the Papa Gino's could be your temporary
      19th. Hole!!! The "Trailer" is Evergreen's temporary Clubhouse,
      and that's where you pay the Green fee.

605.4Easy?...Hard?XANADU::CAMPBELLIt's only a CRIME if you get caught!Thu May 11 1989 10:129
    Thanks for the info....

    How is the course itself. Challenging? Easy? I didn't get a good
    look from the highway, but it looked like there was a lot of water
    hazards.

    I'll have to check this one out.

605.5summary of Course conditionsVICKI::SMITHConsulting is the GameMon May 22 1989 12:2825
    re: .4

       there's Water hazards either In-Play or Out_of_Bounds on 7 of
    the 9 Holes. the 1st. and 4th. Holes don't have any Water hazards.
    the Designer/Builder/Greenskeeper/Manager (he's multi-talented)
    told me that "the Course is still under Construction, and I've
    been working on it every night 'til Dark, and every Weekend".
    The course is fun to play, but don't hit 'em Out_of_Bounds because
    there's piles of Gravel, piles of Rocks, etc. due to the On_going
    Construction. note: Don't play your best set of Clubs if you've
    got a utility set of Clubs to play here, then use them and save
    the best set for a different Course. Here's a summary of Course
    conditions as of 5/19/89.

       Tee-ing Grounds = better than average
       fairways = average
       Greens = slightly less than average

    note: The $7.00 Green fee was a deal, and the Management was cordial,
         guess I'll play "Evergreen" a few more times this Year.
