602.0. ""DEC and GOLF"" by USMFG::TGLASS () Tue May 09 1989 08:57

    Hi,
Just wonder if others have noticed that both last year and again
this year DEC is represented in local golf tournaments by Ray Wright.

Ray is a former SHR golf league opponent, played in the Stowe league
and is a very fine golfer.

Let's all watch his scores, but not make him nervous with our presence!

By the way, saw in the Globe that Ray had an opening 71 and a finishing
77 at this years Hornblower at Plymouth CC!!!!!!!

Not bad for someone who started golf later than many and also works
    full time at DEC!

I noticed that you said that Ray Wright is representing DEC in local
golf tournaments. Is this a standard DEC proceedure in the U.S.?
I have been with DEC in Canada for 5 years and was not aware that
we did this type of thing. Being a 1 handycapper and teaching
professional I am interested in hearing more

    First to Paul at 602.2:
Ray Wright does not represent DEC in golf. This was not stated
properly by me. I meant to say he works at DEC and plays golf
around New England and this DECie is proud of his accomplishments
and wish to share them with other DECie's.

As to new updates, Ray qualified for and is playing in the MASS
Open at the very difficult Oak Hill course in Gardner. Ray was 40,41
on his first day yesterday. The leader set a new course record at
63, so you can see that Ray has alot of opportunity to close the
    gap.
