Can you believe this? For as little as $620 you can have a wk stay
on the island of Jamaica and have as much winter golf as you like.
     The fee above covers:
         Flight via american airlines
         Accommodations in an oceanfront condo.
         Housekeeper/cook service
         2 bedrms 3 baths airconditioned
Cable tv, pool, private balcony and beach
     EXTRA.
       GOLF course fees
      Transportation to course.
If you are interested give a call Dtn 297-2998
This is the ideal way to vacation and play golf at the same time.

Not to squash your enthusiasm, but remember the hurricane, was it
Gilbert? I'd check to see how many courses are open before I made
    reservations.

We looked into going to Cancun 'cause the rates were about half
the normal price. What we found out - the reconstruction is
very noisy and continues 24 hrs. a day (and night).

It might be worth it, though, IF the golf courses are open.

528.2I survived Gilbert!!ECAVAX::STANBACKTue Feb 21 1989 15:3219
I was there during "Gilbert". It depends on what part of the island
you are talking about staying at, as to the quality of the courses.
I was in Negril the first week I was there and didn't play any down
there, because there aren't any really close to Negril. But the second
week I stayed in Montego Bay and then I played the Half Moon G.C.
and it was really nice, but it cost $70 (and I even had my clubs).
The Tryall course looked nice from the road, but I don't know what
shape it's in now. If you look at Jamacia, Gilbert went through
the southeast side of the island, passing right over Mo-bay. I was
in Mo-bay when it hit, it mostly ripped down trees, destroyed houses,
caused flooding. I'm sure the people that live there would have
a different story (and I'm NOT trying to make light of it) but I
don't think there would be to much damage to the courses (except
for missing trees) that would really effect your play. The Jamacians
are really hard workers and I sure they have done everything they
can to put the courses back in shape. I have more pricing info on
the courses if you need it.
