Davis Love, Jr., 53, perished in a private airplane crash near
Jacksonville, Fla., Sunday evening while attempting a nite time
landing in fog. Along with Mr. Love, the pilot and two other PGA
professionals from St. Simons Island, Ga., were killed.
Mr. Love is the father of Davis Love, III, the young long hitter
on the PGA tour. Mr. Love was one of the most popular and well
known teachers in the game of golf. He participated in many of
the Golf Digest golf schools.

I am sad to hear of Davis Love, Jr.'s death. Two years ago I attended one of the schools that he taught. He really understood the swing. He was one of the best teachers in the US. Larry | |||||

The other victims were: John Popa, 37, head pro at The Cloisters, and
Jim Hodges, 35, a teaching pro. All were members of the professional
