| A friend and I were playing Stow South a few years back. We were
paired with a man and his 15 year old son. The kid was looking for his
ball on the 4th, took one wrong step and suddenly was up to his
waist and sinking fast. Fortunately, we were near him and using
a club for him to grab, hauled him out before he got too deep.
I aim way left on that hole.

To avoid deaths and/or lawsuits, do they have a sign up warning
about this hazard? Why don't they have a fence around it? Wow,
golf is tough enough without having to deal with that kind of
stuff!

| Yep, there's a sign, but to be honest, it's not very alarming. When
I think of all the times I've ventured up to the edge of this bog,
I get chills thinking of what might have happened!

| A couple of friends and I were playing a round there last year,
and Ed sliced his tee-shot into the bog on the 4th hole. I was
walking up the left side of the fairway when all of a sudden I heard
Ed yell. When he got back into view, he had mud up to his waist.
He used my towel to clean himself off as well as he could, and we
continued playing.
When we stopped in the clubhouse at the turn, someone said to
Ed, "I see you found the peat bog on the 4th hole. You're lucky
you didn't die."
At the time, we thought he was just joking. I'll be a bit more
careful on that hole from now on.
