Valleywood is an 18-hole public course. I've played it 2 or 3 times.
It has some open holes and some tough holes. It's in Apple Valley,
so should be convenient and offer a challenge.
Hidden Greens is an 18-hole public course, with the lowest green
fees in the world (just guessing). It's located about 4 miles south
of Hastings. It's not easy to find, though, it's on Hiway 291, about
200th Ave. You have to watch the mailboxes along the road. No
sand, a little water, but tight fairways. I like it.
I have to plug my home course, New Prague Golf Club, about 30 mi.
SW of Apple Valley. 18 holes, something of everything. Make a
day of it and eat at Schumaker's New Prague Hotel. Fine German
homemade cooking, recommended by all, 4-star rating, I think.
Another one nearby Vallyewood is Carriage Hills, I've never played
it and know nothing about it.
Minnesota has had a unusually hot, dry summer, and the golf courses
have suffered, but recent rains have helped and they are all in
good shape again. Weather should be nice this next week, temps
in the 70's and low 80's. Hope you like it. Enjoy the golf.
