I registered a while back, but this is my first note.
Anyway, have any of you used the Yamaha X-224 "woods", they have
boron shafts and composite carbon heads.
The reason I am asking is that the relatively newly opened "New
England Golf Shop"(?) in rt 20 in Marlboro has a 1, 3, and 5 left
handed (which I am) at $99.95/club. In the net they feel real good,
but I was wondering your if anyone had the change to play them.
Also what do you think of this store's prices?

I picked up a 5 wood, Yamaha X-200 Accurace at the self-same New
England Golf Shop to match my driver. I am using stiff shafts as
the regulars were too difficult to control the club head. The driver
was a gift from my father and since I have systematically destroyed
the woods of the 15-year-old clubs he handed down to me, I needed
a fairway wood.
I scanned the mail-order stores (Edwin Watts, Pro Shop World of
Golf, Las Vegas Discount Golf and Tennis) and came up with exactly
the same price. New England Golf Shop has a practice net so you
can try the stick out before you buy, so I went with them.
I like the feel of both clubs very much, though I haven't been hitting
them very consistently. Last week, I had three consecutive holes
where with an effortless swing (no slashing) I drove the ball 270-280
straight as an arrow. Beautiful looking clubs.
