| Hi Phil,
Too bad about Faldo! Your right the best man did win. All kidding
aside now.....I was fortunate enough to be there on Saturday. What
a place! It was just like it looked on TV because I saw it on Sunday
and Monday. I think that ABC did a fantastic job covering the Open.
As for the "other" open I'll be viewing it on T.V.......unless u
have tickets to it and a place to stay and plane tickets.....I don't
want much do I?
Thanks for starting this up! I couldn't wait to give a guy from
England a hard time!
See ya,
John (Where's my ball? It's in the hole!)

I went on Thursday to watch for an hour or so....what a humbling
experience. After watching 300+ yard drives, iron play that was
nothing short of spectacular, that when I played Sunday and cleared
the 225 yards out crest of the hill on the fly it seemed like a
mis-hit. And I don't want to talk about putting. The U.S. Open
is golf at its greatest!

Swedish TV coverage, HA HA HA!!! I'm happy if they give the results
in the sports broadcasts, even that is not too likely. As far as
golf on TV goes, this country is definitely agricultural...
Of course, if you have cable TV and get these nice British
stations, you can watch the big tournaments, but the stupid buggers
in the condo corporation where I live keep refusing to install
cable TV.
It's funny, what with Sweden being the second-largest golfing
nation in Europe (after the U.K), that the situation is the way it
is. But I guess that's what you get when you have state-run TV...
If we can throw the current bozos out in the election this fall
there might, who knows, be a change...
