282.0. "Choosing the right "CLUBS"..." by CYGNUS::CABRAL () Tue May 31 1988 10:17

I am thinking of purchasing some clubs (Spalding Pro Flites) and
wanted to get some input from some of you pros out there...
I have a bad slice and these particular clubs are suppose to correct
some of that slice(according to the saleperson)..

Any tips/reccommendations would be most appreciative...

    Thanks

My first impression is that the salesperson might just be full of
what makes the grass grow green. If he/she has not seen you swing
I don't understand how they can predict that a club will stop youro
    slice.

I've just done some work on 2 sets of those clubs. The driver and
3 wood in the sets had a closed face. (This helps square up the
face coming through) So if your slice is caused by an open face
it may help you. If your slice is caused by something else, this
    club just might hurt you.

The irons are peripheral weighted. They appear to be forgiving
and so should help your game. I don't know how much these clubs
cost, but I'm sure that it's a significant investment. Before you
buy them you might want to take a lesson or 2 from a local pro and
then ask his/her advice on what kind of club would be good for you.

BTW the reason that I was working on the clubs, both sets are less
than 3 yrs old and the players hands were slipping on off center
hits. To make a long story short, both sets of clubs had been
    improperly gripped at the factory.

Best of luck with whatever you purchase
