I'm coming to the Boston area in the very short future,............

    .......... and I like to buy clubs !!!!

    Actually I'm playing with half a set of WILSON (sam Snead) and I've
been told I will improve my game (Handicap 29), by using an other sort of
clubs (no blade type);
    In France, first prices are around us$30 for an iron and 70 for a wood;
	- Which kind of clubs I may look for ??
	- What is the price for a reasonable set of clubs ??
	- Where are the shops you recommend in the Boston area ??

	- Is there places where Digital employees have discounts ???
	- When one will buy such goods for exporting them, does
	  some taxes (VAT type) could be deducted ???
Thanks a lot for the information you could provide,

    Maybe some of the readers of this conference that live in the Boston
    area, and make clubs as a hobby can show you some of their work.
    Some of the PING look-alikes are real good blades and with a properly
    fitted shaft are as good as any manufactures models.........

| 280.3 | Nevada Bobs Discount Golf and Tennis Center | WORDS::NISKALA | It takes balls to play bocce | Tue May 31 1988 08:24 | 8 |
| When you get here, check out the Nevada Bobs discount outlets.
    There are 3 or 4 within an hours ride from Boston, the closest
    probably in Woburn. They have good prices. I don't think you'd need
    to pay any export taxes, but you never know, you'd have to check
    with customs. Nevada Bobs has a large selection of sets to choose
    from, you should have no problem finding something you like. You
    cans also hit a few balls into the net with any of the clubs you
    are interested in.

| 280.4 | I got them !!!! | ULYSSE::MICHEL | Wed Jun 22 1988 06:34 | 23 | |
| Finally, after some research I found them ......

    I bough an iron set from Mc GREGOR golden bear and I've allready
    improve my scoring. They have rounded sole and the heads are
    "peripheral weighed" type.

    The good advice was: Have a look to SEARS in Pheasant lane mall,
    NH, first exit on North 3, just past the New Hampshire welcome panel.

    I got the 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,P for $129.99 and no tax were charged.
    Just at the next sport shop (Herman's ??), I bough a putter for $16
    that fits perfectly my stance for putting (short shaft, quite heavy
    at the head level and a foam type grip with a flat front shape).

    This was a real good bargain for me, and equivalent set would have
    cost me around $300 this side of the pound !!

    I also experienced some of the 9 holes courses around Litleton and
    I've been very pleased with the peoples wich welcome us very kindly,
    lending a golf bag or giving very good advices on the course's tricks.
