Just played Green Meadow #2, and discovered that the 7th hole is now a fairly bogus par 3 (very short, no traps, immediately after another par 3), apparently made so because of construction in the area. Anyone know if more holes are scheduled to be doomed? --Mr Topaz

Yes, 18 more holes are doomed. They expect to build a 4-600 unit hotel/conference center in there as well as a number of single family and condo homes in there. They will be leaving 18 holes, not sure which ones, and also build a par 3 executive course. It doesn't seem like they will be starting any of the major changes until next year. This is really going to put a hurt on the league situation up here. Right now all four nines are booked up monday thru thursday will two leagues on each. Stu,
260.2 | a DEC golf course??? | NSG017::GORDON | Thu Apr 28 1988 16:15 | 7
maybe DEC could be convinced to do something with the FRIARY(sp?) that they have in hudson,n.h....like turn it into a golf course for employees....they've had it for at least a couple of years I think and haven't done anything with it...not even sure if it has enough land to support any recreation type activities...

The MKO softball league play their games at the friary. The just built 2 new fields up there last year. Chuck_who's_often_thought_the_friary_was_a_good _spot_for_a_golf_course
260.4 | Not Likely | TRACTR::OSBORNE | Fri Apr 29 1988 14:05 | 14
Just to fill you n a little bit about the Friary Site. This is 175 acres and there has been plans for building facilities on that site. The only reason we haven't is because of the town and their traffic problem. This project has been on hold for 4 years now. There has even been talk of making this into a Corporate conference center,but it seems everytime we (Digital) buy a piece of land, the first speculationis that it would be ideal for a conference center. Since I live in Hudson, I agree it would be an ideal spot for a golf course. Sorry if I busted any bubbles, hopes, etc. Stu |
