if memory serves correctly..........
Jack had a good shot at the grand slam in '72.....
but what all golfers and sports comentatorys seem to always overlook
and never mention is the fact that in...
1953 Ben Hogan won the MASTERS,BRITISH OPEN and U.S.OPEN and
but for schedule of P.G.A. conflicting with one of the above
tournaments he may have won that too.....
No one not even JACK..can claim to have come as close as Ben did
to matching Bob Jones GRAND SLAM....

someone once asked Tommy Bolt who was better Nicklaus or Hogan
and the reply was "Well I've never seen Hogan watch Nicklaus practice
but I've seen Nicklaus watch Hogan practice a number of times..."
