| Cost is not the only factor- I hope you aren't thinking that you
can join and play this year.....The waiting lists are two to five
years long, plus the costs are skyrocketing! (Supply and Demand...
everyone wants to avoid the two hour wait to tee off, plus the waiting
on each shot...)
Sorry if I've rained on your parade....but that's the way it is.
The club I have had application in (Marlboro CC) last year was around
$1500, and I am led to believe that is pretty reasonable....It does
not have a pool or driving range, however- just golf without the
frills.

Although Sharon is a nine hole course, limited membership, our
dues are under 700 dollars. Look around there ARE clubs looking
for members.....

234.3 | Another avenue-Inner Clubs | KSYS::DONOVAN | | Wed Mar 23 1988 16:02 | 10 |
| Another avenue you might want to pursue is to look for courses which
are open to the public but also have an Inner Club (Wayland, Saddle
Hill and Glen Ellen are three I know of) which will give you the
advantage of guaranteed weekly starting times and tournaments without
necessarily requiring a new mortgage.
Good Luck,
JD

| I'm a member at Marlboro CC. 1988 dues for a single are $875 with
an early bird discount of $65. if paid in full before Jan 1 88.
Also it is required to spend $25 a month in the club restaurant
for 10 months of the year. In addition if you are a new member there
is an additional one time $500. initiation fee.
The waiting list to get in the last I heard has about 200 people
on it.
