There will be a very significant auction of golf collectibles the week following the U.S.Open at Belmont. The auction will be held at the Richard W. Oliver Auction House in Kennebunk(207-985-3600). This auction is being considered to be the largest ever held in the U.S. and on par with those held in the U.K. Oliver's has a resident expert in John McInnis and has also called in Kevin McGrath to help with the pricing of items. The actual date is the 21st. of June(a Tuesday) to allow for a possible play-off day in Belmont if necessary.Every collector expects to see our most famous collector(i.e.Golf Collectors Society) to be there and to be an active bidder. Could be well worth the trip! Tom

Did anyone attend this auction? I would be interested in any comments and to hear of others planned in the New England area. The Boston Sunday Globe had a pre-auction article on the Maine auction. |
